To provide administrative and clerical assistance for the administration of College of Podiatric Medicine programs and projects.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Assist in the administration of department programs and projects; ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations originating within and outside the University; provide technical advice and information to aid administrator in decision making; answer questions and resolve administrative and budgetary problems. Serve as liaison and act on behalf of administrator in regular dealings with persons within (e.g., faculty, professional and supervisory staff, etc.) and outside the University (e.g., representatives of agencies, professional contacts, etc.); represent administrator at meetings and conferences; may make presentations at meetings and conferences.Compile information for reports disseminated within and outside the University.Compose correspondence to students and others concerning requests for information or processing of forms; may mail standard response letters (i.e., form letters) for routine requests.Provide clerical support for programs and projects; prepare and process forms; maintain a system of paper and/or computerized files.May train and direct student or temporary employees; may participate in training new employees.Perform related duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year responsible experience in an office or business setting.

Gather, collate, and classify information according to established methods *Perform basic mathematics (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and to calculate percentages) *Apply policies and proceduresResolve problems independently and make decisions within established parametersRead and comprehend a variety of written material *lOperate a computer for word processing, data entry/retrieval, and data management; knowledge of specific software may be preferred *Operate various office equipment (e.g., calculator, copy machine, facsimile machine, etc.).Define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
PRIOR EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY IN HIGHER EDUCATION, SUPPORTING A DIVERSE FACULTY GROUP. STRONG COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS INCLUDING THE MICROSOFT OFFICE GROUP OF PRODUCTS. ABILITY TO INTERACT PROFESSIONALLY WITH AN EXTREMELY DIVERSE STUDENT POPULATION. PRIOR EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENTS AND DATA IS HIGHLY DESIRED.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others.
