Basic Function:

Kent State University's Department of Psychological Sciences is recruiting a new tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biological Psychology or Human Neuroscience beginning Fall, 2022.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Faculty will be expected to develop a productive research program, pursue extramural funding, direct theses and dissertations, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate eduction.

The new faculty member will be expected to contribute to the newly developed neuroscience undergraduate major (in collaboration with other faculty in Psychological and biological sciences) as well as provide doctoral level coursework and training.

Minimum Qualifications:

 Requirements include an earned doctorate in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related fields.  Clinical applicants should have an earned doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an APA-Accredited program, complete a one-year APA-Accredited Internship, and have license eligibility as a Psychologist in Ohio, as defined by Ohio's State Board of Psychology.

Applicants should have expertise in biological aspects of physical or psychological health, and the position is opening to a broad range of research areas, including human neuroscience, psychoneuroimmunology, cognitive or affective science, and biopsychology.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
