Basic Function:

Develop, implement and evaluate integrated strategic marketing plans to support the College of Education, Health and Human Services (EHHS) branding initiatives. Reports to the Dean, College of Education, Health and Human Services.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Promote, market, and report on project initiatives of the College in collaboration with EHHS administrators, faculty, staff and committee chairpersons.

Manage strategic marketing campaigns; and collaborate with EHHS leadership to identify college activities and initiatives that require promotion or explanation.

Along with dean of the College of EHHS create strategic marketing plans to help with student recruitment and student and alumni engagement.

Responsible for preparing marketing analytics reports.

Create and publish major EHHS (internal and external) communications. This may involve research, data gathering, writing, editing, printing and distributing materials via a variety of avenues including brochures, press releases, social media posts, advertisements, displays, presentations, feature articles, flyers, reports, e-newsletters, videos, digital displays and web sites.

Coordinate with EHHS faculty/staff and University Communications and Marketing to create ongoing, strategic marketing plans. This involves establishing and maintaining good working relationships with University Communications and Marketing and other marketing units within the university to advance EHHS's marketing objectives.

Ensure alignment with college, department and university branding efforts.

Oversee, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications.

Serve as liaison between EHHS and University Communications and Marketing.

Work closely with advancement officer for EHHS and to create packages to be used for donor opportunities and similar needs.

Monitor assigned budget; participate in special projects / strategic planning initiatives. Plan and execute special events.  Manage advertising buys.

Supervise interns and graduate students.

Serve on various university committees as required.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication or related field. Three years experience in a public relations, communications or marketing field.



Knowledge Of:

Software applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite *

Skill In:

Written, verbal and interpersonal communication including editing and presentation skills
Organizing information and projects
Adhering to deadlines
Working independently and effectively in collaborative groups
Developing strategic integrated marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes
Digital content creation and marketing automation programs

Ability To:

Prepare and manage project budgets *
Work with internal and external business partners and vendors *
Analyze and develop a variety of problem solving techniques to assess needs and the ability to determine alternative viable courses of action *
Understand and apply the Associated Press style guide *
Possess considerable attention to detail and maintain a high customer-focus with contacts
Multi-task while managing multiple projects and assignments, set priorities and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines within budget *

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Master’s degree.

Specific knowledge of internet marketing preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
