Industry Liaison --Internship Manager, Fashion School

Physical Location:

 Kent Campus - Kent, OH 

Salary:

 $43,393 to $56,439 

Basic Function:

To plan and direct all operational and administrative activities related to connecting Fashion School students with supplemental experiential educational opportunities including: internships, co-ops, job shadowing, international business experiences, and mentoring programs. Reports to the Director, Fashion School.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Establish goals, objectives and strategies to develop and implement programs and services that connect students and business experiences (internships, shadowing, mentoring programs, etc.).

Develop linkages in conjunction with KSU Career Services, external organizations, professional associations and community groups throughout the region to support program development.

Oversee the promotion, marketing, and communication on all aspects of the program by strategically planning the development and distribution of various materials.

Coordinate special event programming related to Industry programs and projects.

Work with Fashion School faculty to provide internship coordination.

Develop and update the internship pages to the Fashion School website.

Serve on various department, division, and University committees.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant subject area; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of three years' experience developing and implementing programming related to experiential learning, mentoring programs and internships; familiarity with for-credit and non-credit experiences and related processes and prior outreach or other appropriate experience required.

License/Certification:

 

Knowledge Of:

Collegial internship programs and familiarity with mentoring programs *
Personal computer applications; managing database information for presentation to websites

Skill In:

Demonstrated skill in written and interpersonal communication *
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven project management skills

Ability To:

Work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff, and business partners and maintain client relationships *
Strategic plan

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Master's degree.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.

Working Schedule:

 Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; however, schedule may vary to meet departmental needs.
