Basic Function:

Assist the International Partnerships, Marketing, and Communication department of the Office of Global Education (OGE) regarding international student recruitment agent relationships and other university partnerships. Create, edit, and maintain international agent and partnership agreements  and contracts, and perform general communication with international agents and partners. Reports to Executive Director, Office of Global Education or designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Create and edit international agent or partnerships agreements and other contracts from templates.

Communicate with potential and existing agents and partners regarding the status of agreements; assist in negotiating terms as needed or as requested by Director.

Assist with the implementation of agent or partnership agreements.

Ensure compliance of all international contracts and agent agreements with Kent State, State of Ohio, and federal policies.

Act as a liaison between Office of General Counsel, Kent State faculty and administrators, and international agents or partners.

Assist in reporting on areas pertinent to agent/partner recruited students.

Provide information and training for Kent State Centers abroad related to agents and/or partners

Assist in coordinating communications to agents and other entities through a variety of methods, such as newsletters, scheduled emails, and mailings.

Assist in the development and maintenance of the department’s customer relationship management (CRM) system.

Develop and maintain a model to monitor an agent’s business practices, reputation, and performance as related to American International Recruitment Council (AIRC) and National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) standards.

Coordinate the Agent Review Committee; make recommendations regarding new agent applicants and renewals, and report on agent performance.

Verify student records to determine accuracy of invoices submitted by agents.

Analyze new and existing recruiting markets to determine the best use of agents within those markets.

Assist the international partnerships department with delegation visits and special events.

Assist the international partnerships division with other international partnership initiatives as needed.

Contribute to the department’s operations and policy manual.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Two to three years of experience in higher education or an internationally-focused field, to include experience working and interacting with diverse, international, multicultural populations.



Knowledge Of:

Personal computer applications, including web-based systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Access *
Contract and legal terminology and implications *
International communication

Skill In:

Written, verbal, and interpersonal communications *
Group presentations *
Agent, supplier, and/or vendor negotiations *
Organizing information and projects *
Multi-tasking while managing multiple projects and assignments to meet deadlines within budget *

Ability To:

Relate to and work effectively with all components of the university and external constituents involving diverse cultures *
Work collaboratively with other university departments and academic units *
Work independently with minimal supervision
Organize and prioritize work with a high degree of initiative and independence *
Possess considerable attention to detail and a high level of quality control; maintain a high customer focus with contacts *
Assimilate and maintain confidential data *

Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:

Master’s degree. Foreign study abroad or comparable international experience.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. May work varied hours to include evenings and weekends during peak periods; may require occasional travel on and off-campus.
