Manage the assigned function(s) within the Bursar's Office including the daily activities, development and implementation of policies/procedures, and staff supervision. Assist the Bursar in strategic planning and compliance activities. Reports to the Bursar.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Manage the daily activities and supervise staff assigned to specific functional areas (e.g. Accounts Receivable - Student, Cashiering, Collections/Check Distribution and Accounts Receivable - Other):-May oversee billing, collection, and accounting of student funds-May oversee cash processing, eMarket development/implementation, and deposit of University receipts-May oversee processing/distribution of University checks and collection of delinquent receivablesDevelop and monitor office services, personnel administration, and professional development of staff.Assist in strategic planning activities for the department and make recommendations concerning utilization of staff, procedural modifications, publications consistent with department objectives and activities.Assist in ensuring compliance and consistency with all federal, state, and University policies and regulations related to student account issues; consult with department staff to provide technical support and interpretation of policies and regulations.Develop and implement policies/procedures to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness of Bursar's Office.Assist in the development, maintenance and processing of COGNOS reports.Resolve student issues as they relate to assigned function(s).Plan, coordinate, and attend staff and various committee meetings.Detect and correct errors; respond to external audit findings and recommendations.Serve as liaison between Bursar's Office and other University offices, outside agencies, students and parents.Perform related duties as assigned.
Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant business field of study; and a minimum of four to five years progressively responsible accounting experience; to include one year supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
State and federal regulations pertaining to universities; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) *
Written, verbal and interpersonal communication with the ability to communicate effectively with all components of the university and external constituents ?including well developed presentation and negotiations skills *Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software *Organizing information / projects and assessment of program initiatives - while adhering to deadlines *
Provide leadership and direction *Work independently and as part of a team *Possess considerable attention to detail and maintain a high customer-focus with contacts *Independently manage multiple projects and functions and prioritize workflow *Maintain a collegial and constructive environment based on open communication, positive team building, and effective management of customer relationships *

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent will be required to travel from building to building and to off-site locations occasionally.
Normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, schedule will vary to included some evening and weekend hours to meet departmental needs.
Must pass a security check.
