Basic Function:

Full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Computer Engineering for programs that emphasize practical applications of engineering principles in the areas of Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Aeronautics with a start date of August, 2018.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Position requirements will include the development and teaching of coursework in the area of Digital Electronics, Network and Computer Systems as well as Information Technology Engineering.  Knowledge and expertise in areas including, but not limited to, Virtualization, Distributed Computing, Cloud Services, Hardware and Embedded Systems, and Datacenter and Network Engineering.  Acts as lead faculty for the Computer Engineering Technology (CET) program which includes managing other faculty in the CET program and interacting with the other lead faculty in the College.  Work toward obtaining ABET Accreditation for the Computer Engineering Technology program.  Engage in collaboration for engineering-related activities across academia, industry and government.  Conduct scholarly and  sponsored research at both graduate and undergraduate levels.  The selected candidate will be instrumental in developing strategic research competencies for the college. Provide service to the campus and community.  Work cooperatively with a diverse student population and with faculty colleagues on college and university-wide committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must earned a Ph.D. in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering prior to starting this positions.  Applicants without a Ph.D. will not be considered.  Applicants should also have a background in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Network Engineering.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
