Data Quality Assurance Specialist – I.A.

Develop, implement, and maintain the data quality management (compliance) plan for more than 250,000 alumnae and donor records. Responsible for all phases of the data quality lifecycle including: quality assessments and data profiling; quality design; quality transformation and monitoring that result in measurable and sustained data integrity. Manage special projects related to data and reporting needs within Institutional Advancement. Reports to the Associate Director, Advancement Services, Institutional Advancement or designated administrator.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Utilize data profiling techniques to assess data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data sources.Document and maintain data transformation rules and mapping.Identify areas for data augmentation and cleansing; maintain updates from third party sources according to a defined plan and measure effectiveness.Design and implement plans for data audits, correction procedures, and measuring data quality.Manage methodologies (how, where, etc.) of information storage within source and reporting systems; partner with appropriate personnel within the division to design and implement changes when needed.Develop and maintain an annual budget for data-related services and updates.Perform testing and data validation on reports and dashboards as needed.Stay current with IRS regulations, CASE standards, and departmental data needs and implement changes as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, information systems, or a related field from an accredited university or college and two years of experience working with reporting and database development tools.
A minimum of six years of progressively responsible work experience in data entry, performing data uploads, and data auditing; experience implementing data and process improvements; maintaining large databases (over 150,000 records), with a demonstrated understanding of data manipulation, data design, quality assessment, and profiling concepts. Requires demonstrated ability in use of enterprise reporting systems such as Cognos, Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services. Must possess advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and Access) with ability to manipulate and format data.
Banner ERP experience is preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
